• The College is delighted to announce that the HLA Hart Visiting Fellowship in Law has been endowed in perpetuity, thanks to a transformative gift from the Rt Hon. Lord Mance, (1961, Law). We are grateful to him for this generous contribution to the life of the College, and in recognition of this will rename the Fellowship the HLA Hart-JH Mance Visiting Fellowship in Philosophy, Law and Politics.
• On 19 January, Univ held its second International “At Home” Day in what we hope is going to become a firm favourite in the College diary.
• Sam Reynolds (2021, History) was part of the men’s Varsity rugby team last Sunday when the Oxford Blues took on Cambridge at StoneX Stadium.
• Following on from another very wet term, there is unfortunately not much Oxford-based rowing to report on. With Torpids sadly cancelled, and the river unrowable for most of Hilary term. However, that hasn’t stopped all at UCBC from rowing elsewhere! …
• Professor Tamsin Mather, Univ Supernumerary Fellow in Earth Sciences, presented the first of our 775 Univ Online Talks on 11 March: “Icelandic volcanism: grounded flights, fissures and fires – past crises and the possible start of a new magmatic saga on the Reykjanes Peninsula”.
